We need composer to install laravel and manage its dependencies, composer can be installed by following the steps in getcomposer.org website. It’s better if composer is installed globally instead of locally.

After installing composer, laravel can be installed by running the following command in terminal,

Setting Composer path for Ubuntu users

After that step, we need to set the path for the composer to make it available system-wide.

So in the terminal, run the following command,

Setting Composer path for Windows users

You need to set the composer’s bin folder path in environment variables.

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System and click Advanced system settings in the left panel.
